Photos of a sunset on Mars were revealed, showing beautiful pinks and reds.  The colors are caused by the immense amount of dust in the atmosphere.  That dust has another visual affect on the red planet.  If, for instance, you find it difficult to take a nap in daytime hours, Mars may not be the place for you.  Total darkness on the planet only lasts about six hours.  That’s because dust clouds extend so high up into the atmosphere it refracts the sun’s light for a few hours after sunset and again before sunrise.
The spectacular photos we’ve seen so far are not like the ones that come from a Polaroid camera.  Instead, the ones transmitted to Earth are about the size of postage stamp.  Then they are pieced together like patchwork.  Scientists say Pathfinder could provide an endless supply of information given the fact it’s solar powered.  However,Christian Shoes, there is a battery for some of the experiments.

ANNOUNCER: In Belgrade, Slobadan Milosivic is the new president of Yugoslavia.  He was chosen by members of the country’s parliament.  The parliament hastily approved Milosivic as the only candidate, then put him in office.  Opposition parties say the election was illegal and unconstitutional.
For 10 years, Milosivic has been the president of Serbia and ruled it with a heavy hand.  Serbia is the stronger of two republics which make up Yugoslavia.  The other republic is Montenegro.  The federal presidency of Yugoslavia is considered to be a ceremonial office, but it’s widely believed that Milosivic will try to change the constitution and broaden his powers.
